If you received Pfizer/Moderna for your primary series, please make sure your second dose was at least 5months prior to be eligible for a booster of any kind. If you received J&J for your primary series, please make sure you received your vaccine at least 2months prior to be eligible for a booster of any kind.

According to the CDC, eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.
Please note that mixing and matching is only allowed for booster doses! If you are just now completing your primary series of Moderna or Pfizer, you must finish your second dose with the same brand as your first dose.

Yes! According to the CDC, “COVID-19 vaccines may be administered without regard to timing of other vaccines.” This means you can receive your COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines (i.e. flu, shingles, tetanus) simultaneously, all within the same appointment even!

CDC now recommends that children between the ages of 5 and 11 years receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine. The pediatric vaccine is one-third the dose given to adolescents and adults and is administered with a smaller needle. For more information about the pediatric vaccine, you can visit: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/planning/children.html

Unfortunately, CDC has not approved any vaccines for pediatrics under the age of 5 yet. Until they do, any children (and adults) who are unvaccinated should continue to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including but not limited to, wearing a mask in public spaces and around people they don’t live with.
